The local Polish community has been collecting donations for the disabled children center in Bilohirji, near Kremenets, Ukraine. Lena Komarynska born in Kremenets, states that these Ukrainian children are able to receive their therapy because of the financial assistance and there are even more children coming from the war torn areas of Ukraine. The need is great and the hard work of many, including the owners and employees of Taste of Poland in Plano invite patrons visiting the deli or restaurant to support Ukraine. Our board member, Chrystya Geremesz visited Taste of Poland and thanked them for helping fellow Ukrainians.
At the Polish church of St Peter the Apostle, bake sale funds and money raised from Sunday's coffee and cake sales are making a difference for the children in Kremenets.
"Helping another person in need is beautiful and gives a lot of satisfaction, but you cannot turn a blind eye to the evil that is happening so close to my homeland, Poland" says Ludmila Mitula.
The "Small Big Hearts" foundation, volunteers of the Polska2050 movement and many other Polish artists are contributing their time and talent to help Ukraine.
We are forever grateful for their assistance in this time of need.
