Ukrainian Mayor of Kharkiv Visits North Texas

The City of Dallas has established a Friendship City relationship with Kharkiv, Ukraine and in April, local Ukrainian organizations (River of Life Church, Ukrainian Amercian Society of Texas, Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas) and others such as Family First came together to welcome Mayor Ihor Terekhov to North Texas.


A reception was held at The Hope Center in Plano on Wednesday, April 2nd, from 6:30 to 8 PM, featuring lite refreshments by Multi Cook, musical performances by Veselka and Kalyna Singing Groups, guest speakers, Ambassador Gregory Slayton and Ukrainian Consulate Vitalii Tarasiuk, a Q&A session with the Mayor, Donation and Gift Presentation to the Mayor of Kharkiv and concluded with Prayers for Peace in Ukraine led by local Ukrainian church leaders from River of Life and St George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.


Refugees from the city of Kharkiv, living here in North Texas came to greet their Mayor and all contributed to making the event a truly memorable experience. Many thanks to all who attended the event and showed their support for Ukraine.



The World Affairs Council hosted the Mayor of Kharkiv and held a special reception in his honor on April 3, 2025
