When Russia invaded Ukraine, the City of Dallas suspended their Sister City ties with Saratov, Russia and a few years later, signed a new Friendship Agreement with the second largest city in Ukraine, Kharkiv. As a gesture of solidarity with Ukraine, Mayor Eric L Johnson promised to keep the Kharkiv City Flag in the City Hall Flag Room until the war ends. The signed agreement calls for plans to begin a productive partnership that includes economic, educational and cultural exchanges to mutually benefit both cities. The Ukrainian community stands ready to do their part in supporting the efforts of the two cities!
