On the 30th of April 2022, at Ben Thanh Plaza in Arlington, the local Vietnamese community commemorated the 47th year of Black April Day, a day of remembrance for the millions that died during the fall of South Vietnam. They understand Ukraine's fight for Democracy and Freedom and this year invited our local Ukrainian groups to join in the event. Thanks and thoughts about Ukraine were offered by Natalya Stanyiuk and Cathy Teinert, Board Member of UAST. Members of Veselka Singers sang the Ukrainian National Anthem and Bandurist, Mark Krasij performed a few Ukrainian songs. Other UAST Members and supporters of Ukraine took part in this memorable event. A generous donation of over $18,000 was raised and donated for Ukrainian Humanitarian needs.
