Ukrainians around the world are commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Genocide of 1932-33. Here in Texas, three Ukrainian Communities- Houston, Austin and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area are working to educate, commemorate and publicize this solemn event in Ukraine’s History to the local Ukrainian communities and the public at large.

Planned events:

  • Publication of the Ukrainian Genocide/Famine in World History Books

  • Showcasing a national exhibit of Ukraine’s Genocide in pictures and facts

  • Proclamations on a city and state level to memorialize the event in a Day of Remembrance signed by the Governor and City Mayors

  • Fund raising activities to support the construction of the Genocide Memorial in Washington, DC, to be unveiled November 2008

The success of our efforts is based on the level of support received from our communities. To find out how you can help, contact the committee chairpersons.
